I was born and raised in Crystal Lake, Illinois but moved to Madison in 2005 to attend the University of Wisconsin. I’ve spent time as a fishing guide, managed a bait shop and was even vice-president of the University of Wisconsin Fishing Team (yes, there is collegiate fishing). As Jack’s father being able to post on this site makes me very proud. It is amazing to see my son develop the same passions that have provided joy in my life over the years.
Just like life it is the journey that counts. It is the friendships and the knowledge you gain as you spend many, many hours on the lake or in the field that provides those moments of adeneline rushes and satisfaction knowing that you used your knowledge to accomplish a goal. The accomplishment of that goal stimulates your drive to stive for more which enables you to get up at 4 AM on a weekend, to put on the rain gear on again, or wade through a thin layer of ice to set out decoys.
